Unless you’ve been living in a teapot for the past few years, I’m sure you’ve heard of if not worked with the mighty WordPress within your website design. The open source nature of the excellent blogging software, means that there are thousands upon thousands of freely available plug-ins for everyman and his dog.

Here are a small selection of plug-meisters that have caught my eye over the past few months.
1. WordPress Mobile Pack
Getting your blog ready for the mobile revolution is essential if you don’t want to be left standing in the dust. With the ever-growing influx of mobile devices and mobile broadband solutions, there’s no prize for guessing that mobile internet is on the rise. This plugin comes with 4 themes, the option for the user to switch between mobile and desktop, and also an admin interface for the blogger on the move!

2. Contact Form 7 Design
Contact forms are an essential part of your website design, and often provide the main point of contact between you and your visitors. Contact form 7 gives you the flexibility to add as many types of data field and control completely your web form layout. With On-the-fly Ajax validation, optional captcha and message emailing, this form offers true web form prowess over the competition.

3. WP-PostRatings for your Website
This neat little Ajax-based plugin allows your blog readers to rate a post with graphical representation. The plugin comes with a nice back-end administration module allowing you to manage and control the ratings that are given. You can seemles intregrate this with your website design using the selection of themes which are included.

4. Smart YouTube
One of the many reasons why wordpress has become so integral in website design today, is its ability to integrate with some of the worlds largest interactive websites; YouTube is no exception. This intuitive plugin allows you to seamlessly and correctly embed your youtube videos, simply type anywhere within your wordpress, the url of your youtube video, and simply replace the http:// at the beginning with httpv:// and the plugin will detect and embed the video. Wow!

5. Website MP3 Player Plugin
Having the ability to play mp3’s on your site no longer has to be a daunting process, but infact a very simple process. Music now has it’s place within website design. Web users are often looking for control, and having the ability to cut to a particular part of your mp3 and continue the stream, will without doubt enhance the user experience.
