If you didn’t see our last post, we showed you how to upload and prepare your very own Video Podcast for submission to the iTunes store (Subscribe to our Podcast on iTunes). We did this using the free video distribution service, Blip.TV, which created us a Podcast RSS Feed, which is required by iTunes.
With this done, we’ll now show you how to submit your podcast to the iTunes store.
Submitting your Podcast to the iTunes Store
Firstly, you need to login to your Blip.TV account so that we can grab the URL of your Video Podcast’s RSS Feed.
This can be found by navigating to your Blip.TV Dashboard, selecting the Distribution tab and going to the iTunes section.
On this page, find the URL of your Podcasts RSS feed and copy it to your clipboard. For reference, the URL should look something like this:
http://your-username.blip.tv/rss/itunes

Now, open up iTunes and navigate to the iTunes Store.
Once it’s loaded, select the Podcasts link on the left-hand column. If you haven’t already, please ensure you have logged into iTunes/Apple Account (you’ll need to register one if not, don’t worry, it’s free).

iTunes Podcast Directory
With this out the way, find the Submit a Podcast link on the iTunes Podcast Directory page. This can be found usually on the right-hand column towards the bottom.
Now, just follow the simple steps within the Submit a Podcast section. Firstly, fill in the form with your Podcasts RSS Feed URL and click Submit.

Submit a Podcast Wizard on iTunes
iTunes will read the data contained on this Feed and present you with a Review Page containing information on how your Podcast will appear in the iTunes store.
Finally, if everything appears correct, just simply click Submit and your finished!
Congratulations on making your very own Video Podcast!
Provided that the podcast meets the standard iTunes Guidelines, it should appear on the store within 72 hours. To update your podcast in future, simply just upload your video to Blip.TV
