Flash Web Design

September 18th, 2008 Posted By James

Often we at Creare hear the myth that if you design a website which includes flash, then it will affect how the site performs in Google and the other search engines.  Well, if that’s the case, why is Creare Design sitting proudly at position 2 for the competitive phrase Web Design when our site uses Flash?  (Flash, for those of you unfamiliar with the term, can be used to allow movement on a website i.e. an example of flash can be seen at the top of our home page).
Essentially however it is a misunderstanding by the people who say you should not design a site using flash.  The point is you should not design the WHOLE site using Flash.  Google cannot index (read) flash and as a result, if the whole site is designed in flash you will not list for anything within Google (and the other search engines).  If flash is used properly, however, and sparingly, it can add interaction to a site without any damage to its Google listing (web optimisation).

Again, we at Creare cannot stress enough, when it comes to web design, please make the web a better place and use a company that knows what its’ doing.  Call Creare today and we will guide you, in a professional way, through the web design maze……….
