W3C Compliant Web Design

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

W3C LogoIn the web design industry, The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) are considered to be the governing body in website coding standards. The W3C develop the industry standard specifications for coding and web-site compliance across a variety of coding languages from HTML to CSS.

In simple terms what this means is that all web-designers are at an advantage if they follow the web design coding guidelines set out by the W3C.

By adhering to the W3C code recommendations, a W3C compliant web page on the internet can expect to enjoy the following;

  • Easier cross platform compatibility, whether your website’s visitors are on a PC or a Macintosh, using Internet Explorer, Safari, Firefox or Netscape etc.
  • Your web-site will become easier to crawl by Search Engines search as Google, resulting in better Search Engine rankings.
  • Easier integration of dynamic content, media and flash.
  • The peace of mind that the web page has been written in the industry standard format.

As standard at Creare, we design all our websites in W3C compliant code. This ensures that all our client’s websites can achieve their true potential on the internet.

For more information about W3C compliant web-design, and how Creare can help your website achieve its’ potential, we recommend contacting us today.

Web Design and Creare

Tuesday, November 27th, 2007

As a marketing company we take a holistic view to all aspects of advertising. Web Design and Search engine optimisation are no different to other forms of advertising. When you consider we all buy in different ways and for different reasons, it is essential we consider this when we design a web site.

What are the main factors to consider when designing a web site?

  1. The home page is very important. The design should represent you or your company effectively and be representative of what your target market is looking for.
  2. The web site should always be viewed as a sales tool and not an information tool (it may be this as well)
  3. One aspect which is very important is your customers need to understand all the sides to your business. The website has to be designed to reflect all the sides to the business quickly and effectively. This serves two purposes firstly they can quickly navigate to the part of the wed site they are interested in and secondly you reinforce your other products and services to the customer.

90% of web sites will not work

Monday, November 26th, 2007

It is our opinion that over 90% of web sites will not work or perform to expectation.
Are you frustrated with web design? And or a web design company?

You are not alone
Do any of these comments ring true?

1. I have paid a deposit for a web site and I feel like I am paying myself to design it.
2. My website has been under construction for months (years?)
3. My friend (a customer) is designing my web site for me
4. I know I need a web site but I am too busy running my business to put the time into it.
5. How do I know I am making the right decisions, There are so many conflicting views.
6. If I invest in a web site how will I know it will work?
7. Once my web site is constructed how do I market it?

These are a small cross section of the comments and concerns we experience. It is a fact in our opinion that over 90% of web sites will not work or perform to expectation.
